Internet Privacy Legislation in 2010 Explained

LIVE Webcast

Summary:

In July 2010, the chairman of the house consumer committee introduced a bill regulating consumer data protection that will have broad and sweeping consequences to companies that store consumer data. These new laws would be regulated by the FTC and would give the Fed the ability to fine offenders up to $5,000,000 dollars. While the law is aimed at larger businesses, it will affect any company that stores 15,000 or more consumer records.

In an era of increased electronic privacy scrutiny, many companies will have to rethink the way they manage and store their data and in many cases completely overhaul the key considerations governing internet/electronic privacy policies and systems.

The Knowledge Group is assembling a panel of distinguished professionals and key regulators to help you understand Internet Privacy Legislation in 2010 and its impact on your firm. The speakers will present their expert opinions in a two-hour LIVE Webcast.
