Anne McGeachin

Anne McGeachin is a senior project manager at the International Accounting Standards Board where her responsibilities include tax accounting. Before joining the IASB she was a senior manager in KPMG’s UK technical department. During her time there, she had a four-year secondment to the UK Accounting Standards Board.

Anne is a graduate in Mathematics from Cambridge University and a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales.

John R. McGrath

Mr. McGrath is a managing director in the FTI Forensic and Litigation Consulting segment. He provides litigation support, expert testimony and advisory services in connection with forensic accounting investigations, partnership and shareholder disputes, mergers, acquisitions and divestitures, tax compliance and litigation matters. He is an experienced professional in matters involving generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) and generally accepted auditing standards (GAAS). Mr. McGrath has extensive experience with FAS 109 Accounting for Income Taxes and has represented Big 4 accounting firms, corporate clients and legal counsel in SEC investigations and due diligence disputes with respect to the application of FAS 109.

Dual qualified as both an audit and tax partner, he retired as managing partner of the Syracuse, NY office of Ernst & Young. Over 30 years international Big Four experience representing both public and privately held clients in a broad range of industries. A representative list of industries served by Mr. McGrath includes manufacturing (diagnostic medical equipment, machine tools, aircraft, electric lift trucks, pharmaceuticals, brewery, theatrical stage equipment, telephone switching equipment, nutrition bars, stoves and pipes, injection molded plastics and pollution control equipment), retail (drugstore chain, grocery store chain and department stores), services (national payroll processing firm, international chain of resort hotels, casinos and time-share projects, commercial printers and a multi-state chain of TV, radio and 175 newspapers), distribution (electronics equipment and printing equipment and supplies), construction contractors, international engineering firms and a freight and passenger railroad.

Mr. McGrath has extensive experience in adversarial proceedings involving contractual disputes, accounting irregularities, fraud, due diligence reviews, embezzlement, damage claims, divorce and business valuation. Retained as an expert witness in a wide range of matters testifying in both Federal and state courts, he has also represented numerous clients in IRS and New York State Appellate Conferences pertaining to corporate, individual and gift and estate tax matters.

Mr. McGrath received a B.B.A in Accounting from LeMoyne College and completed second level in house Graduate Tax Program at Ernst & Young. He is a certified public accountant. He is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, New York State Society of Certified Public Accountants and Virginia Society of Certified Public Accountants.

Michael DeSimone
Senior Manager, International Tax

Michael DeSimone works with Thomson Reuters’ ONESOURCE Transfer Pricing clients on both the implementation and use of the ONESOURCE Transfer Pricing products and services. He also assists clients to analyze their business operations and international tax structures.

Prior to joining Thomson Reuters ONESOURCE Transfer Pricing, Michael has 28 years of Tax experience with various Fortune 500 companies and was most recently the Manager of Tax Research for American Standard Companies Inc. His responsibilities encompassed the analysis and implementation of various strategies involving supply chain management and logistics, commissionaires, IP migration, holding company structures, and multi-jurisdiction financing/credit agreements, transfer pricing studies and documentation, as well as successfully defending these strategies before the IRS and various foreign tax authorities.

Michael is an Attorney admitted to practice in New York and New Jersey. He received his JD from New York Law School and his BS, Accounting from Rutgers University.
