Paul A. Penler

Mr. Penler is responsible for identifying, evaluating and accelerating the development/ implementation of improved auditing processes and tools. As part of Ernst & Young’s Global Audit and Assurance practice, Paul focuses on bringing new services and service enablers (e.g. tools) to market. In this role, his responsibilities include serving clients, authoring thought leadership pieces, participating in industry initiatives and market testing of new services and service enablers. Mr. Penler has presented at numerous international conferences and has been quoted by over 20 publications.

Mr. Penler leads Ernst & Young’s XBRL Consortium, market outreach and client service activities on a global basis. Paul has been Ernst & Young’s representative to the XBRL International and U.S. Consortium since its founding in 1999 and has been the Chair of XBRL U.S. and the Vice-Chair of XBRL International (2003-2005). Paul is currently the co-chair of the XBRL-US Market Outreach Working Group XBRL.

In addition, Paul has spent over 15 years providing a wide range of assurance and advisory services, in several industries, for clients in the Dallas, Washington D.C. and Cleveland offices of Ernst & Young. Paul is a CPA, Certified Government Accountant and graduated with a B.B.A. from the University of Texas and a M.S. from the University of North Texas. Paul is based at Ernst & Young’s Global Audit offices in Cleveland, Ohio, USA.

Mike Willis, CPA

Mike Willis has more than 26 years of accounting and auditing experience and is a partner with PricewaterhouseCoopers. Mike served as the Founding Chairman of XBRL International (http://www.xbrl.org ), which is currently composed of more than 640 leading software, accounting and finance companies from 30 countries around the world. Mike has served in a number of roles within the XBRL community and currently serves as Chairman of the Board of Directors and the International Steering Committee. XBRL is an international information format standard designed to enhance business reporting supply chain processes benefiting preparers, distributors, aggregators and consumers of this information.

Mike has also played a founding role in the development of national and international consortia working to develop broad corporate reporting frameworks and related taxonomies. He worked along with other founders from Microsoft, the AICPA, and Grant Thornton to form the Enhanced Business Reporting Consortia ("EBRC") outlined here: http://www.ebr360.org/ Subsequently, Mike played an active role in EBRC collaboration with similar organizations around the world to form the World Intellectual Capital Initiative ("WICI"), the world’s business reporting network, a private/public sector collaboration aimed at improving capital allocation through better corporate reporting information. He speaks frequently, publishes papers and blogs on the topic of business reporting. Mike has been interviewed for or published articles in a range of business periodicals on the topic of a more efficient and effective business reporting supply chain including the Harvard Business Review, Financial Times, Business Week, Wall Street & Technology, CFO Magazine, and CIO Magazine.

Mark Montoya
Senior Business Analyst, Division Insurance and Research
Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC)

Mark Montoya is currently Senior Business Analyst of Data Strategy for the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation's Division of Insurance and Research. In this capacity, Mark is responsible for management awareness for data quality, management support for Meta data, management directives for data sharing, distribution and data standards. Mark was one of the original founders of the Central Data Repository (CDR), an XBRL-based financial reporting collection system accessed and shared by the US Federal Reserve Board, the US Office of Comptroller of Currency and the US FDIC. Since its inception, Mark has presented and shared lessons learned on implementing XBRL in large enterprise settings. Mark has been involved with XBRL since 2001 and has extensive experience developing and implementing XBRL formulas.

Mark Bolgiano
President and CEO

Mark Bolgiano is the President and CEO of XBRL US, the national consortium for XML business reporting standards and developers of the XBRL US GAAP Taxonomies. Mark leads the XBRL US staff team supporting consortium members and the board of directors in realizing a vision of information quality, consistency, and accessibility on a global scale through open data standards. He is a member of the International Steering Committee of XBRL International, and has served non-profit organizations over a twenty-year career using a collaborative, data-driven and member-focused approach. His past experience includes ten years leading the finance, operations, and technology teams as Vice President of the Greater Washington Board of Trade. Before joining XBRL US, he led the technology and internet communications teams at the Council on Foundations as Vice President and Chief Information Officer.
