Jeff is a Managing Director in PricewaterhouseCooper's Financial Instruments and Credit Group in New York, which provides a wide range of financial instrument-related accounting advisory and valuation services to PwC's clients, principally financial institutions and major corporations. Jeff specializes in assisting clients in accounting for transfers of financial assets and evaluating the consolidation of limited-purpose and investment vehicles. Prior to joining PwC in 1998, he was affilliated with several other major accounting firms and financial institutions. Jeff has a BA from Colgate University, and received his Masters in Accounting from New York University.

Enrique Tejerina
Partner, Department of Professional Practice

Enrique is a partner in KPMG’s Department of Professional Practice – Audit in New York, New York. Prior to joining the Department of Professional Practice in 1996, Enrique was an audit engagement partner in KPMG’s Financial Services Practice in the New York office. His clients included entities in commercial banking and investment services. Enrique joined KPMG’s New York office in 1976 following graduation from the State University of New York at Buffalo where he received a B.S. degree in accounting

Enrique regularly consults in the financial instruments area under U.S. GAAP and IFRS with special concentration on issues relating to derivatives, hedging, foreign currency, fair value and debt and equity. He leads KPMG’s Department of Professional Practice financial instruments topic team and is Vice Chair of the financial instruments topic team in KPMG’s International Standards Group in London, England. Enrique is a member of the FASB’s Derivatives Implementation Group. This group assists the FASB in identifying and resolving issues related to derivatives and hedging. He is a former member of the AICPA’s Accounting Standards Executive Committee (AcSEC). AcSEC is the senior technical committee of the AICPA.

Jamie Mayer, CPA
Executive Director, Accounting Principles Consulting Group (Former FASB Practice Fellow)
Grant Thornton LLP

Jamie is an Executive Director in Grant Thornton’s Accounting Principles Consulting Group (APCG), which consults with audit professionals and clients on technical accounting issues. Jamie’s primary areas of focus include transfers and servicing of financial assets, consolidation of variable interest entities, fair value, financial instruments, and other general banking topics. In addition, Jamie is the APCG liaison to the financial institutions practice.

Jamie recently returned to Grant Thornton after a two-year fellowship at the Financial Accounting Standards Board (FASB). While at the FASB, Jamie was one of the lead project managers on Statement 166, Accounting for Transfers of Financial Assets and was the lead project manager on FSP FAS 140-4 and FIN 46(R)-8, Disclosures by Public Entities (Enterprises) about Transfers of Financial Assets and Interests in Variable Interest Entities. In addition, Jamie was involved with various technical application and implementation projects addressing fair value measurement and other issues that affect financial institutions.

Prior to joining Grant Thornton’s Accounting Principles Consulting Group, Jamie worked in Grant Thornton’s Chicago audit practice, primarily serving public and nonpublic financial institutions, government-sponsored enterprises, credit unions, corporate credit unions, and mortgage banks.

Jamie speaks regularly on accounting issues affecting financial institutions and other industries. In addition, Jamie has developed and provided training to Grant Thornton professionals. He has also written various firm publications on accounting standards developments.

Jamie received a B.S./B.A. in accounting from The Ohio State University.

Mike Strong
Director, Accounting Policy Group

Mike Strong is a director in the accounting policy group at Chatham Financial, which provides comprehensive interest rate and currency hedging expertise to over 700 REITs, financial institutions, structured finance companies, and other corporate clients in the United States, Europe, and Asia. Mr. Strong also directs Chatham’s Real Estate Hedge Accounting practice.

Prior to joining Chatham, Mr. Strong was a Senior in Ernst & Young’s On-Call Advisory practice, where he focused on SFAS 133, SFAS 140, and FIN 46R. Prior to that, Mr. Strong worked in Ernst & Young’s national office as a researcher. Mr. Strong is a CPA and a member of the AICPA. Mr. Strong received his BA, summa cum laude, and Master of Professional Accountancy from the University of Utah.
