Katrina Blodgett

Katrina Ane Blodgett is a staff attorney with the Division of Privacy and Identity Protection, Bureau of Consumer Protection, at the Federal Trade Commission in Washington, D.C. Ms. Blodgett investigates and prosecutes violations of U.S. federal laws governing the privacy and security of consumer information, as well as violations of the Fair Credit Reporting Act. The most recently announced case on which she worked was Dave & Buster’s. In addition to case work, Ms. Blodgett served on a rotation in the FTC’s Office of International Affairs, where she presented technical assistance in Asia and participated in the work of the OECD and the London Action Plan. Ms. Blodgett was the key organizer of the FTC’s March 16-17, 2009 conference, “Securing Personal Data in the Global Economy.”
Before joining the Federal Trade Commission staff, Ms. Blodgett was an associate with Arnold & Porter LLC in Washington, D.C. Ms. Blodgett clerked for the Hon. Priscilla Owen at the Texas Supreme Court and the Hon. Royce C. Lamberth at the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia.
Femi S. Richards, CIPP

Femi Richards works within LexisNexis Group’s Privacy, Security, and Compliance Organization and is the Vice President, Audit and Compliance. In this role, Femi leads the audit and compliance team, ensuring that privacy compliance policies are implemented, monitored and measured consistently and frequently. This includes responsibility for all internal and external, customer-facing privacy and compliance process, as well as internal and external privacy compliance auditing. He reports directly to Carol DiBattiste, SVP, Privacy, Security, Compliance, and Government Affairs.
Femi was previously a senior associate with Holland & Knight, LLP where he practiced in the Corporate Diversity Counseling, Education Policy, and Government Relations practice groups. During his nearly five years at the firm, Femi assisted numerous Fortune 500 companies, educational institutions, and government agencies in responding to diversity crises and in developing comprehensive diversity action plans addressing the key areas of supplier diversity, diversity communications, diversity in corporate governance, workforce diversity, and community and government relations.
As a licensed attorney and Certified Information Privacy Professional, Femi is a member of the District of Columbia Bar, Connecticut Bar, American Bar Association, Washington Bar Association, and the International Association of Privacy Professionals. He graduated from the University of Massachusetts-Amherst with a Bachelor of Arts in Legal Studies. He earned his Juris Doctor degree from the University of Connecticut School of Law, where he served as a member of the Moot Court Board, winning the award for the Best Oral Advocate. He was awarded his Master of Public Policy degree from the John F. Kennedy School of Government at Harvard University, where his Master’s thesis was awarded the Manuel C. Carballo Memorial Award for outstanding scholarship.

Ben Isaacson is responsible for all interactive marketing policy and email deliverability issues affecting Experian CheetahMail and Experian’s diverse marketing services client base. Since 1996, Ben has been an industry leader assisting in the global development of self-regulatory and regulatory policies, guidelines and best practices for the interactive marketing industry.
Some of Ben’s many leadership efforts include serving as a Co-Chair of the Email Sender & Provider Coalition’s (ESPC) Receiver Relations Committee, Co-Chair of the Messaging Anti-Abuse Working Group (MAAWG) Senders Committee, Co-Chair of the DMA’s Data Steward Council and serving as an Advisory Board Member to the International Association of Privacy Professionals (IAPP) and driving the adoption of Anti-Spyware Principles for the Web Analytics Association (WAA). Ben’s recently published whitepapers include Experian CheetahMail’s “Identifying and Managing Domain-Specific Deliverability” and “Advanced Deliverability Strategies and Solutions.” He has recently published articles for the IAPP Advisor, TrustE, and ClickZ. Recent public appearances by Ben include Inbox, Inbox-Outbox UK, InfoSecurity, IAPP Annual Conference, MAAWG Conferences, Revolution Magazine Digital Conference, Ad-Tech, FTC Spam Forum, and many others.
Prior to joining Experian CheetahMail, Ben led The Isaacson Group, an interactive marketing and e-policy consultancy. His previous roles include serving as the Executive Director of the Association for Interactive Marketing (AIM), a DMA subsidiary which included pioneering numerous self-regulatory practices for the email and online marketing industry. Ben recently received Certified Information Privacy Professional (CIPP) status with the IAPP.

Mark focuses a segment of his practice on compliance with privacy-related laws, rules and regulations (domestic and international), as well as responses in the event of a data breach. Because of the incredibly wide range of applicable laws, rules and regulations, Mark understands that advising on privacy-related issues is not an area of law that should be practiced “on the side,” and diligently stays up-to-date on this ever-changing field. Mark prepares privacy policies (both intra-company and for customers), handles privacy issues under the Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act and related requirements for the privacy of consumer financial information (including the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA)), prepares data security plans and assists with data breach responses and notifications.
Mark also practices intellectual property and the law of the Internet. He prosecutes various intellectual property matters, negotiates transactions, and provides counsel on a wide range of technology-related matters.
